Hey, good morning South Sub. Thanks for joining us for our end of year service. Man, I can't believe it's only a few days until 2026. Can you believe it? Hey, we're so glad you're here with us this morning. We hope you had an awesome Christmas holiday with all your family and friends and that everyone is staying warm and healthy. We're going to start our service off this morning with some worship and singing. So, uh, get comfy. Hope you got your PJs on. get cozy on the couch wherever you are. Uh we know that wherever you find yourself this morning, God is there. Also, God's presence isn't confined to a single building or the four walls that we call a church. Good morning and happy almost new year. South Sub Church. Can you believe it's only a few days until we turn the calendar and we actually have to write on checks and documents and anything else we write down 2026. That is crazy to believe. You know, as I was thinking about this new year coming up, um here's one of the things that I always look forward to the new year. It's a new year. It's a new start. Whatever is behind us, we can start looking forward to what's in front of us. Um maybe this past year, you are totally ready to start a new year. Um some of you, I know, have gone through just great physical difficulties, just your health, and there's just a lot of trials with that. um others of you that I know have had to live through and still living through grief and all the the difficulty that comes with that or maybe it's financial hardships. Wherever you draw the line, um I just know for many 2025 has been a difficult year and you're definitely ready to turn the page. As I was thinking about turning the page in the new year, I thought about a verse and a passage in the Bible that we've often looked to at different times and that's John chapter 8. If you remember John chapter 8, it's that moment in Jesus's life that he was teaching and preaching and walking through the towns and some of the religious leaders walked up to him and they brought a woman with him. It wasn't your normal woman. It wasn't actually the type of woman that you'd want to bring with you to a party. Um, the Bible records and describes her as the adulterous woman. She's the woman that they had caught in this horrible act of having affair on her husband. And the Bible lets us know in John chapter 8 that they brought the woman to Jesus and they it describes like they they cast her down in front of Jesus. I'm not sure they shoved her down but in great humiliation. I'm sure she dropped her head in shame and she's not even looking at the Savior. And these religious leaders looked at Jesus and he described him. They said, "We caught this woman doing something she shouldn't have done. We caught this woman in adultery. The Old Testament says we should stone her. What do you say we should do with her, Jesus? Do you remember those words of Jesus? The Bible says that he bent down and began to write in the sand and the dirt in front of him. We have no idea because the Bible doesn't record what he wrote. But as he wrote, he looked up at the religious leaders and he said, "Whoever is without sin cast the first stone." And interesting, um, the Bible says that one by one the men left. They left from the oldest to the youngest. So undoubtedly nobody there was sinless. There wasn't a single religious leader there that had never sinned. And so nobody could pick up a stone and throw it at the woman. And many people think that the scripture and the story stops there. But it goes on a little bit further. The Bible says that Jesus looked at the woman and he said, "Ma'am, where have all your accusers gone?" And she looked around and it was obvious they had left. And then Jesus said these words. He said, "Now go and sin." no more. Now, often times when we read this passage, we focus on that part that says sin no more. But there's one word in there that we often bypass. And today, I think that's the word that we need to kind of linger on a little bit more. Jesus looked at that woman and said, "Go." In other words, what he was saying is anything that was behind you, your past, you need to leave in the past. Now, when you leave in the past, you don't need to pick up the sins and keep doing them. But he used that word go that you need to go and have a new life. You need to go and have a different attitude towards yourself. You you need to go and live your life without shame. You need to go and move forward. And so church, I was thinking about this as you and I turn the pages of our calendar and we go from 2025 and we go to 2026. That's exactly what we need to do. We need to go forward. I thought about this verse in Romans 6:4 and it says this, "For we died and we were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the father, now we may also live new lives." Can you imagine this? Can you imagine that somebody that has been resurrected from the grave, not physically, but spiritually, but yet they live in their old self. What a horrible way to live. Can you imagine the woman in our story that she was cleansed and forgiven by Jesus, but she continued to live in her old way of life. No, what Jesus says is we need to go and live our new life. And so, as we turn the pages to 2026, here's my challenge to you and my challenge to myself. That we go live the new life that Jesus has given us. That we live in the freedom of sin. that we live in the forgiveness of others and that we live in the joy that a resurrected Jesus gives us in our life. And so my way of wishing you a happy new year's is this. Go live the life that God has in store for you. Go live your life forward, looking ahead and not looking behind. Go live your life with your held up high because Jesus has forgiven you of all your sins and not looking down in shame because you're still hanging on to your own sins. Church, let's live 2026 going into the world and living and loving the way Jesus did. Church, I love you. I am miss seeing you in person today, but I am hoping that you're celebrating the season with your family. I hope you're celebrating with your friends. And I look forward to seeing you next Sunday as we gather together in God's house and we begin living out and going in the name of Jesus.

Good morning all. We are so excited that you are with us today. I want you all to go into the kitchen and grab some crackers or some bread and some juice and let's have communion all together today. Good morning, friends. On the night that Jesus was betrayed, he sat in the upper room with his disciples and he took the bread and he blessed and he broke it and he gave it to them saying, "Take, eat. This is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. This is my body. do this in remembrance of me. And in the same way, he took the cup and he blessed it and he handed it to his disciples and he said, "Take, drink. Do this in remembrance of me. Each time you do it, you remember the Lord until he comes again. This is the blood of Christ. Do this in remembrance of me.

Let us pray. Dear father, thank you for this day and thank you for the blessings you bestow upon us. We just ask that you help us to be your hands and feet in the world in your Lord's name. Amen.
