Love INC is a non-profit Christian organization that provides support and assistance to people in need throughout our community. South Sub is one of 34 area churches that partners with Love INC to fulfill this mission. South Sub currently provides people power and equipment twice a month to pick-up furniture donations and deliver to families in need. Each May, South Sub in partnership with Mission Hills Church, conducts a community “diaper and wipes” drive for struggling area families. South Sub also provides volunteers for their transportation program and their “Renewed Treasures” boutique store. South Sub members have also participated in Love INC’s IMPACT program – a program that helps lead and encourage folks towards a richer, fuller life. We also use Love INC’s call center as a screening tool to help us assess benevolent needs.
Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) seeks to be the eyes and ears in the community, while local churches are the hands and feet. The local church is God’s answer to community brokenness and a part of His plan of redemption and restoration. That’s why we mobilize local churches to offer a holistic approach to caring for people in all areas of life: spiritual, mental, emotional, relational, material, and physical. Together, we are the body of Christ serving our community with love.
Joy House is a two-year transitional FirstStep home through Providence Network serving women and children coming out of domestic violence. Women are allowed to stay for a pre-determined time until they can get back on their feet. South Sub helps clean apartments between resident stays; provides a monthly meal for all the women and their children; and distributes gift cards for the families during the Christmas season.
Joy House is a part of Providence Network which is an urban, transformational housing organization that helps impoverished men, women and families heal from addictions, abuse and homelessness to become self-sufficient, productive members of the community.
South Sub hosts quarterly “Give Life” blood donation drives here at the church through Vitalant. We invite church members and the community to participate in these events. Our next two scheduled “Give Life” days are October 12, 2021 and February 22, 2022.
Vitalant exists to help people realize their life-transforming potential by offering convenient blood donation opportunities and sharing our expertise in transfusion medicine. There Is An Urgent Need for Blood and Platelet Donors. Help Save A Life! There Is A Shortage Of Blood, And Patients Need You Now. Vitalant Blood hosts donation days for you to make an appointment and donate.
NORTH LITTLETON PROMISE
South Sub has helped support NLP with the following: community food drives during COVID; financial assistance for kids to be able to go to summer camp; a coach for their soccer team; and attendance and volunteers for their annual Cinco De Mayo celebrations.
North Littleton Promise builds life giving relationships with immigrant kids and their families to transform the northeast Littleton neighborhood through Christ.
MOUNTAIR CHRISTIAN CHURCH
South Sub has developed a wonderful outreach and support ministry with Mountair Christian Church and their members. We partner with them to help support and supply food and clothing for their community pantry. This past year we had a Coat and Boot drive; several general food drives and most recently a Peanut Butter and Jelly July drive.
Mountair Christian Church is an intimate, urban, intergenerational church, providing a path to discipleship by being an active presence in our community.
"LOVE DOES" GROUP
Our “Love Does” Group helps provide for a variety of community needs based on current context. Last year during the thick of COVID, the “Love Does” group provided breakfast treats to the maintenance workers at Littleton Hospital. “Love Does” is currently helping with area refugee students and their families.
Refugee students and their families often will arrive to the Denver area with just the clothes on their backs. (The UN defines a refugee as someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war, or violence.) Throughout the year the “Love Does” group collects needed items (blankets, cleaning supplies, athletic equipment, gift bags, deodorant, etc.) for distribution to these refugee students and their families. Please contact us for current needs.
