About the Event

Fraud does not discriminate. Data breaches are real. ID Theft can take years to resolve. The damage impacts everyone, young and old. You, your family, and your life. Breaches are often the root cause of the everyday scams we are currently seeing. At times, the outcomes are unavoidable. Recovery is possible. Most of the time, prevention and protection are controlled by you and your actions. Simple steps can position you toward safety and empowerment.

Our Speaker: James (Jamie) Sorrells is the Director of Consumer Fraud Protection for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, which serves Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln Counties. He oversees a comprehensive program that educates consumers regarding financial scams and schemes operating within the 18th jurisdiction and the entire metro area. He assists those who have fallen victim to a fraudulent event, conducts Fraud & Elder Exploitation Prevention Seminars, Consumer Fraud Alerts, and collaborates with a variety of media outlets and agencies to share consumer fraud protection information on a state-wide basis. Consumer Fraud Protection is part of the Economic Crime Unit.
